Sales Analysis - Air Jordan 5 “Oreo” - Has The Value Crumbled?

The Air Jordan 5 has been pretty solid when it comes to releases both old or new and after finishing strong in 2013, the year 2014 held back on the AJ5 in favor of other models. Jordan Brand typically doesn’t take the silhouette for granted by pumping out back to back color ways, and if they have, it was typically a classic colorway. The Oreo colorway made its way onto the AJ5 back in November of 2013 and it was met with positive criticism and sold out pretty quickly. The sneaker utilizes Black nubuck, White contrasting details, and speckled accents on the shark teeth atop on icy sole to complete the Air Jordan 5 “Oreo” colorway which ShoeFax will be analyzing.

Avg. Price $282.32

The Air Jordan 5 “Oreo” was rid ing off of extreme AJ5 hype in 2013, releasing on November 29th at a retail price of $170. Classic color ways such as Laney and Grape as well as new color schemes such as Black Grape and Fear helped the Oreo fit right in, taking on a look we’ve seen back in 1999 on the AJ4 and will see again this year. This general release did fine on the market, and as of the past two months, the AJ5 Oreo has been averaging around the $268-$320 mark nearly every day of the week. At its average price of $282, the sneaker grosses a $112 profit which is definitely a healthy profit per pair and great news for a new colorway.
