Last year, the Lebron Jame’s line of Nike sneakers were completely revamped with the introduction of the Lebron XI. Proceeding it’s official launch campaign, the high performance shoe was rarely seen on court in any of the early season games. In fact, during the the first 18 games of the season, LeBron had only worn them for two complete games before switching back into the previous model due to comfort issues. However, this did not limit its popularity or success, as Lebron still held the leading position for gross sneakers sale in the NBA. During the 2013 season, Nike reportedly sold three hundred million dollars of his most recent sneaker.
2014 Lebron 12
This year, Nike’s goal is to create a model that is just as visually appealing than its predecessor, but with even more on-court functionality. Specific information regarding the technology used on the Nike’s latest innovation has yet to be released. Although, the pictures implicate the upper of the Lebron XII is comprised of a lightweight composite mesh, dynamic flywire, and hyperposite material, similar to last years version. The sneaker’s underside reveals the increasingly popular translucent outsole with multicolored hexagonal traction grips.
The turquoise and grey mock up has been set to release on October 31st as the first of many colorways. LeBron’s pending status as a free agent is is keeping the sneaker community in anticipation for the next ‘Home’ or ‘Away’ renderings of the new silhouette.
