2014 Air Jordan 3Lab5 ‘Metallic’
One of Nike’s most notable tactics for preserving consumer interest in it’s sneakers is the retro. Restoring nostalgic sneakers from the 80’s and 90’s to their former glory has been an ongoing phenomena for many years now. Recently, some models and colorways have been over saturated, some having seen 3 or even 4 re-releases since their original debut. In an effort to break the monotony of recycled retro colorways, while paying homage to series of sneakers that have propelled Micheal Jordan’s career to the next level, designer Bratt Golliff crafted the Air Jordan Lab collection.

2011 Air Jordan V ‘Metallic’
So far there have been two 2 colorways of the 3Lab5 which engulf the the classic Air Jordan V silhouette in the detailed Air Jordan III elephant print. Later this month you will have the opportunity to add one more colorway to your collection. Starting from the midsole up, the entire sneaker is is constructed from a black leather. It is then given an allover elephant print treatment. The midsole of the shoe is mostly black and borrows its metallic color and black speckled accents from the original Air Jordan V ‘Metallic’ colorway. Lastly, it is postured on a icy blue two sectioned outsole.
The innovative design of the series bears no signs of Jordan’s retro + colorways losing hold of it’s creative ingenuity anytime soon.
