Why is it that every recent Nike LeBron model consistently sits on store shelves? With very rare exceptions, LeBron’s sneakers have never lived up to the hype that Nike attempts to stamp onto them. Case in point: The South Beach colorway that just released last weekend at a retail price of $200.
The technology is implemented, the color way is applied, and the price is the same famous people it’s always been. Why is it that the latest color way has sat on shelves yet again? Why is it that resellers attempted to scoop up pre orders for $250-270 and then got stuck selling pairs for retail?
Average Price: $214.98
Take a look at the Nike LeBron 11 “South Beach” pre release data below which shows that out of 187 listings, 95 were successful at a sell through rate of 50.8%. The average price for purchasing the sneaker before the release date was $214.98, which is cheaper than picking up the shoe for retail + tax.

Previous South Beach models include the LeBron 8 & 9 as well as the Slides release which have all sold out near-instantly and fetch much higher prices due to the hype and color combination. The color way has been coveted enough that for a time, many sneakers were released using the “South Beach” theme and sold very well. The Nike LeBron 8 South Beach continues to be one of the highest valued LeBrons on the market while the 11’s take on it has struggled to even get out of seller’s hands for a profit.
Just like LeBron’s free agency, the sneakers are available as well in some retailers and on the market for retail. Who knows if resellers will opt out of LeBron 11 releases just like the man himself did to the Miami Heat? In any case, stay up to date with the market value of this sneaker as well as hundreds more via the ShoeFax app available on both Apple and Android.
