The coveted Air Jordan 6 “Carmine” is a grail to many sneakerheads. From the OG to the CDP pair, people went crazy for a pair of their own. After releasing this weekend, we all had our own chance to cop the classic colorway. Many thought that copping early was the only chance they’ll have at owning the sneaker.. but was it really? After Jordan Brand dropped a large quantity of pairs, it seems like the pre-release price may not seem reasonable anymore. Let’s take a look at what some patience could have saved you.
We took a look at 2 weeks before the official release of the Air Jordan 6 “Carmine.”
Gathered eBay and Kixify listings/sales show us that in only 14 days before the release, this coveted sneaker brought in a whopping $1,054,317 in sales.
This successful number was made because of a high sell-through rate of 60.49% on a total of 3,855 listings which is approximately 2,332 successful listings which is a huge number considering the sneaker didn’t come out until a few days later.
Even before the official release, the number of pairs offered via eBay and Kixify were at a high of 7,226. This high number of pre-release pairs is a clear indicator that there are a lot of pairs floating around out there, and even more scheduled to release during the official release. With the average pre-release price being set at a $259.17, that puts the price up to $89.17 over retail. Even though this classic sneaker is one of the most sought out for Air Jordan 6’s out there, after the colossal amount of pairs put out there; it seems like it wasn’t hard to get a pair. If you were one of those who spent their money on an early pair, it may have been a good idea to wait until the official release. Now tell us, was an extra $89.17 worth the hype of stunting for a couple weeks?
