The Men’s Nike Air Pegasus+ 28 is “Flyer” Than Your Average Shoe
There are not many running shoes for under pronators out on the market these days. Of the handful of choices, the Nike Air Pegasus+ 28 has garnered quite a bit of buzz. We at ShoeFax are always on the lookout for shoes that are notable enough to run through our testing and write about. In this Nike Air Pegasus 28 review, we’ll look at its improvements from its previous predecessor as well as other reviews of the shoe. By the end, there should be enough information for you to decide whether this shoe is right for you.
Pegasus 28 Overview: Flying High With Deep Grooves
One of the things that allows the shoe to stand out in the under pronation category is how light it is. For men, the weight comes in at 10.3 oz. This is about 0.5 oz lighter than its predecessor. The reason for the lighter weight is a technology called Flywire that Nike has been employing to all its shoe lines.
According to Nike, Flywire was inspired by how light weight yet supportive carbon fibre structures are. The one drawback was that carbon fibre tends to be rigid. So they went ahead and refined the idea to introduce flexibility into the mix. The result is Flywire, a lightweight material that is threaded throughout the midfoot panel of the Pegasus 28′s upper.
Since the shoe is designed for long distance running, cushioning and flexibility were also paramount in its design. The heel of the sole was raised to give extra support for the runner. This makes it ideal for longer runs but not so good for short sprints. Finally, a deep groove configuration was molded into the front of the foot, which gives greater flexibility from its predecessor.
One last interesting thing about the Pegasus+ 28 is the “+”. The Nike+ technology has been around for a while. It basically allows you to track information about your runs (e.g. distance covered, speed, etc). This is good information to have for things like figuring out when to replace your shoes or how well your training is coming along. This type of information is especially valuable for long distance runners.
So What is the Jury’s Verdict?

Here are some Nike Air Pegasus 28 review comments from customers:
“These kicks will leave your feet wondering why you have been subjecting them to such low quality shoes for so long. There is just enough cushion and give in them, not too much nor too little, it is just perfect. These shoes are recommended for people who have low arches in their feet and I must fit into that category because it seems like these shoes were custom made just for me! Thanks Nike for creating an awesome shoe and Zappos for providing it for a great price!” - Matt H. (Napa, CA), Zappos.com
“Some of the most comfortable running shoes I’ve ever worn. My feet are AAA width so very happy that these B width were able to fit. Just ran a 10K on a hot day, feet felt great. Great value for money. Love Zappos free shipping both ways and excellent customer service if something is not right.” - Dave B. (Alpharetta, GA), Zappos.com
“I just picked these shoes up for an incredible price! I’m not a runner, but like a good, light-weight shoe when working out that feels good and looks good. Saw these before a few weeks ago, then found them on sale and tried on again (yellow/grey). I like fit/feel, but agree with the other reviewer that they run 1/2 size small. I normally wear 10.5, but the 11 fit better. Great shoe from Nike!” - CTL “Lorus7″ (Canton, MI), Amazon.com
