Nike released an updated version of the classic Air Max 90 with Lunarlon technology as part of the 45th Anniversary of man walking on the moon. Known as the Moon Landing color way, the shoe was a limited release and featured a unique 3M upper with moon graphics throughout. Also sporting American branding on the heels, the shoe utilized Red/White/Blue stars and stripes and finally a speckled Lunarlon midsole finish up the color way. The Nike Air Max Lunar 90 SP “Moon Landing” released on July 20th at a retail price of $145 and fetched its highest price of $700 the day after the release. As soon as the Moon Landing color way dropped, the value of the sneaker nearly tripled its retail value for an average price of $442. Many pairs sold for at least $400 and with that average price, resellers stood to make a profit of nearly $300 which is at least two extra pairs if purchased at retail!
